IBIS salon was created and established in the summer of 1992 by Dennis Body of Richmond Virginia. Mr. Body began his career in 1981 after graduating from an accredited Redken Academy. He immediately began working with Shear Technique, located in the Fan District of Richmond Virginia. His association with Shear Technique, a Redken Ambassador Salon provided the additional experience and hands on training to perfect his technique in all areas of the beauty industry. "I am proud to say that stylist and colorist from Shear Technique are members of my team today."

Mr. Body brings a wealth of knowledge to the clients and staff of IBIS. Having attended a Redken Academy he learned a wealth of information about the internal structure and the ph of hair. "What continues to keep me passionate about hair is the internal makeup. Redken’s research and development department continue to produce tools for stylist that are far superior to any other company. With this knowledge we can transform damaged hair to become beautiful and incredibly healthy."

Dennis had the privilege to work with Redken as an educator for a number of years. "Working with Redken’s internationally known and award winning stylist has given me and my staff the knowledge that only a few stylists in the area are able to obtain." Dennis’s other accomplishments are: Redken Certified Tricoanalyst, Redken Certified Specialist, and having attended the Roy Peters Haircolor Academy, Roy himself has said "Dennis could be teaching this class." Dennis continues his education by bringing educator’s from the prestigious Redken Exchange on 5th Ave. in New York City, into his salon to "educate his team on the latest technical skills straight from the fashion runways of New York." He continues to attend educational events to remain a leader in what’s happening in the industry. "Pureology is a line of products, produced by Redken that I am very excited about. These products are 100% vegan and certified organic [meaning NO PESTICIDE was used within a 12 mile radius of where these vegetables proteins were grown.] This brings a whole new level of excitement to us as stylists.
